The Kosovo-Serbia dialogue will resume by mid January, but the exact date of the meeting has not been scheduled yet. The Pristina negotiation team leader Edita Tahiri stated that in the January meeting the topics of discussion will be regional cooperation, energy, and telecommunication.

Pristina, KOSOVO – Wednesday, January 4, 2012 – by Vedat Xhymshiti
Tahiri told Radio Deutsche Welle that in February there may be another round of Kosovo-Serbia talks, this time on road, railway, and air transport, war damage compensation, border demarcation, missing person’s issue, and on other issues that need solution.
The opposition political parties keep opposing the IBM agreement, considering that its implementation is impossible as long as Serbia does not recognize Kosovo borders. In addition, MPs said that they know little about the content of the agreement.
By this agreement, borders would be managed by the Kosovo and EULEX customs officers, as well as by Serbian ones. However, so far even the EULEX Mission has little knowledge about its role.
Belgrade refuses to recognise Albanian-majority Kosovo’s 2008 declaration of independence, which is recognised by the United States as well as most European Union and many other states.
The agreement allows for police and customs officers from both Belgrade and Pristina to jointly manage the crossings under the supervision of the European rule of law mission EULEX in all six Kosovo-Serbia crossings.
