“This is a moment to be remembered, the culture of what has happened 92 years earlier, something to be honored, with great respect and gratitude, for the patriotic act of the famous patriotic families of Tirana.
This is the moment to start the projection of the European Tirana, as a decent center of the Albanians. For decades, Tirana was the city of hope for every Albanian, but today, our duty is to make Tirana the hope of their citizens, may them be autochthones or not”, Basha declared.

Berisha valued the proclamation of Tirana as Albania’s capital by mentioning names such as Suleiman Delvina, Ahmet Zogu and Abdi Toptani, who undertook this important step for Albania, 92 years earlier.

“Chosing Tirana as the capital of our nation was one of the biggest acts in the efforts of the Albanians for building their future as a free state. Tirana fell to the hands of a barbarian bank that was concentrated in the block and has never been able to integrate with Tirana.
They built their own bunker, but never penetrated the alleys, the minds, the heart and the spirit of the Tirana citizens”, Berisha declared.

Tirana was proclaimed as the capital of Albania in the Congress of Lushnje, in 1920.
